We are thrilled to announce that NewSchools Venture Fund (NSVF) is reinvesting in the Elevating Educators Program for a second year.

Elevating Educators, led by Julia Hazel, is designed to provide a range of supports and opportunities to increase the number of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and multilingual teaching staff in the district. Julia and her team work to increase the number of ed techs who become teachers; create a positive shift in school culture; nurture a sense of belonging for staff; and more.

NSVF is encouraged by the program’s early results and its potential as a model for other districts across the U.S. FPPS will receive $210,000 to support this work in the Portland Public Schools.
